Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 September 2026.

These terms govern your use of sydneytourism.org. By reading the site you accept them; if you do not, please stop using it.

What this site is

Sydney Tourism publishes free, independent guides to visiting Sydney and the places within a day of it. It is a publication, not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform or ticket seller, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any tourism authority, government body or operator mentioned on it.

The limits of travel information

The guides are written carefully, but Sydney does not stand still. Ferry and train timetables change, attractions revise their prices and opening hours, walking tracks in the Blue Mountains close after storms or in fire season, and restaurants change hands. Every price, time and recommendation here is accurate to the best of our knowledge on the date the guide shows, and no further.

Confirm anything your trip depends on with the operator or venue before you rely on it — opening hours on the day, current prices, whether a booking is needed, and whether a service is running. Nothing here is legal, immigration, medical, insurance or financial advice, and it is no substitute for official guidance on entry requirements or safety. In an emergency in Australia, call 000.

The guides on this site are original work and protected by copyright. You are welcome to link to anything here and to quote a short passage with clear attribution and a link to the page it came from. You may not republish a guide in whole or in substantial part, or use the site’s content to train machine-learning models or feed automated republishing, without written permission.

Photographs are used under the licences of their sources — Wikimedia Commons and Pexels — and credited where the licence requires it. Those licences belong to the photographers, not to this site, so permission to reuse an image has to come from its source. Names and trade marks of the businesses mentioned here belong to their owners and are used to identify them.

Guides link to other websites. Those sites are not under our control: their content, availability, privacy practices and terms are their own, and a link is not an endorsement. Follow one and these terms no longer apply.

Advertising and commission

Sydney Tourism does not carry display advertising. Some links to booking and travel sites earn us a commission through the affiliate network Travelpayouts, whose script converts them as the page loads and can add booking boxes of its own: if you book through one, the booking company pays us and your price is the same either way. That is stated at the top of every guide and explained on the affiliate disclosure page. A booking you make is a contract between you and the company that takes your money; we are not a party to it, and no commission has any say in what a guide recommends.

Comments

Comments are open on some guides. Keep them relevant, lawful and civil. We may edit, hold or remove any comment, and we remove spam, advertising and personal attacks. You keep the rights in what you write; by posting it you allow us to display it on the site. What happens to the details you enter is set out in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its host, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or use it to distribute malware or anything unlawful. Automated bulk copying of the guides is not permitted.

Availability

The site is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available without interruption or free of error. Guides may be revised, merged or withdrawn at any time.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sydney Tourism is not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here, including a missed departure, a changed price, a closed attraction or a cancelled event. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the site’s publisher is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date at the top says when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting it.
