About Sydney Tourism
Sydney Tourism is an independent guide to visiting Sydney — the harbour and its beaches, where to stay and eat, how to get around, and the day trips, the Blue Mountains above all, that most visitors fit into the same trip.
What is here
More than 130 guides, organised into thirteen pillars: things to do, beaches, where to stay, food and restaurants, getting around, day trips, the best time to visit, events and festivals, nightlife, culture and history, family and kids, travel planning, and the Blue Mountains. Each pillar has a complete guide at its centre and more specific articles around it, so you can start broad and go as deep as your trip needs.
The guides are written to answer the questions people ask before a trip — what something costs, how long it takes, how to get there and when to go — and each one shows the date it was last updated. Prices and timetables change, so treat a figure as a guide and confirm anything your plans depend on with the operator.
How the site is funded
Sydney Tourism is free to read and sells nothing of its own. It is funded by commission on some booking links: links to booking and travel sites are handled by the affiliate network Travelpayouts, whose script adds commission tracking to them as the page loads and can add booking boxes of its own, and if you book through one the booking company pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Every guide says so at the top, and the affiliate disclosure explains it in full. The site shows no display advertising.
What we don’t do
There are no paid placements. No hotel, restaurant, tour operator or attraction can buy a mention, a place in a list or a favourable line, and none of them sees a guide before it is published. We do not publish sponsored posts or sell links, and no commission decides what a guide recommends.
Photography
Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and Pexels under licences that permit reuse, and each guide credits its images at the foot of the page.
Who publishes this
Sydney Tourism is independently published. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Destination NSW, the City of Sydney, Transport for NSW or any other tourism authority or operator.
